JVA World Challenge- FAQ
What Is It?
JVA Virtual World Challenge is a competition against other teams around the world. The goal is to achieve as many steps as you can together. Since we can’t be together in the gym, let’s get active virtually and compete at a safe distance!
When?
Friday, June 12 at 5PM and Saturday, June 13 at 9AM
Where?
RED HILL PARK, RANCHO CUCAMONGA
Will it be safe for my player?
OOB has committed to follow the CDC guidelines to insure your player’s safety. Each team will consist on 10 players and they will be assigned one coach per team. Each player must keep 6ft apart from each other during each activity. We will have sanitizing stations and each equipment will be cleaned after every use. Face covering will be proved.
What will the players be doing?
JVA Virtual World Challenge consists of getting in the most steps together as a team. In order to get the most steps in, our coaches have came up with different activities in order to win. We will have different stations with no more than 10 people at a time. Each activity will take roughly 30 minutes and after the implemented time, teams will continue a different activity.
What will the activities consist of?
Each activity station is designed to get the most steps possible. These will be the following stations:
Jump Rope Circuit Workout
Obstacle Course/Race
Laps around the Lake (Red Hill Park has a lake in the middle where players can walk/jog/run for 30min to get in as many steps as possible.)
Coach Vero’s High-Intensity Cardio
Speed and Agility Workout
We will also have little competitions through out the event such as trivia, small activities, etc. where players will be able to win prizes.
How will JVA determine the winners?
JVA is hosting the 2 day competition where the teams with the most steps win JVA World Medals! Now to track all of these steps, every team & players across the world have to download StepApps Pedometer*, to keep all step counting fair and even. This App is compatible with both iPhone and Androids.
Can parents be at the event?
Parents may stay and watch but must be 30 feet away from the group activities.
What is the goal for this event?
Out of Bounds wants to bring back some normalcy back in the life of our players. Even though we cannot be in a court together playing volleyball, we want to get together to come back stronger than ever. This serves as a way to get ready to be back on the court ready for the season to start up again and avoid any injury. We also understand how important team bonding is and this could be a way for players to get together (at a safe distance of course).
How can my player sign up?
To sign up all you have to do is send us a message in slack saying your players wants to compete. Please know spots are limited. Each player will be receiving a free exclusive OOB 2020 t-shirt and OOB face mask for coming out and participating.
If you have any questions or concerns, please comment them below. We are so excited to be outside again with our club players, but staying safe of course.
