NIKE Volleyball Clinics- Q&A
As you may have heard, our Nike Volleyball Clinics launched on Monday, August 17th! We are so stoked we can provide such an amazing program for all volleyball players in our community. We knew they were as eager as us to be back on the court. However, we know understand this pandemic has created a lot of what if’s for many parents, and we want to assure you we are trying out best to ensure your player’s safety.
Here are some of the questions you may be asking yourself before committing to signing up:
Is it safe?
OOB strives to create an environment that is safe and clean for our players.
The gym is cleaned daily and before/after every practice.
We have created a check-in process that ensures every person who walks in the building has their temperature checked and gets sanitized.
Parent’s are not allowed in the gym area, therefore minimizing the amount of people in one area.
Players sanitize their hand after every drill and equipment is also cleaned after every use.
The groups are kept between 10-12 people as stated by the county.
Why should my player attend?
OOB and high school teams are getting ready for the upcoming season and your player should be doing the same.
If your player hasn’t been practicing at home during the stay at home order, they might need some time to shake off the rust on their volleyball skills before going to tryouts.
There can be a higher risk for injury if your player hasn’t been active during the pandemic.
If this is your players first time trying out for a club or high school team, they would benefit from receiving constructive criticism from top-notch coaches in a relax environment.
Getting back into shape is important for every athlete and we provide a fitness session with very session with a certified trainer.
What is the difference between each program?
The Nike Volleyball Clinics offers different sessions which are designed to help each player build or refine their volleyball skills.
Nike Volleyball All Skills Clinic
This clinic is available to beginners/intermediate players from the ages 8-14 who either have no experience with volleyball or want to tryout for their high school freshman team. They are divided by age and skill level. They focus on the core fundamentals of volleyball and build up the skills through repetition. Intermediates can still benefit from repetitions through skill progressions and technique adjustments. They will have weekly skill evaluations.
Nike Volleyball Rust Buster Clinic
This clinic is separated by age group. It is being offered to ages 10-18. The idea behind this camp is to give all athletes the chance to polish up or prepare for the upcoming try-outs. The second reason for the camp is to allow coaches the opportunity to view athletes in a more relaxed (non-tryout) environment. The emphasis of the camp will be on skill refinement and development which will be accomplished through a series of high paced drills and controlled scrimmage situations.
Nike Volleyball Fall Series Training
Every training session has one particular skill it will focus on during that session. Training sessions include; Setting, Attacking, Control, & Serving. This is a great resource to have if a player only wants to focus on a particular skill set to see faster improvement.
